Porting a tesco mortgage

Quick question for mortgage brokers or someone in the know. I have a fixed deal with tesco on main residential home. Looking to move home and port the mortgage. The LTV will stay well within the product we are on and we do not need additional borrowing. If they sell to an inactive lender, could that lender prevent porting?

Depends on the exact t&c of the mortgage, but if the buyer of the mortgage book wants to prevent you porting, it can likely find a way

T&Cs say it is and spoken to tesco, they say yes. Just worried what the impact is of an inactive lender!
