Hi I have inheerited £100,000 from a family member
Will have to pay tax on it at the end of the year.

I want to invest about 1/3 of it in some sort of low risk investment.

Where would I start ? Not done this before PS not gonna put it in my house at is already paid off.

Let me knwo any advice apreciated thanks.

Low risk? What are you objectives for this money? How long can you invest it for? Can you risk any form of capital loss? Have you used your ISA allowance for this tax year?

Are you likely to want it before you retire? If not look at pensions as you could get a bit chunk of the tax you've paid this year back a well.

If you're likely to want it in the next year or so (eg thinking of using it to move house), you're looking at cash ISAs (£20k) and easy access accounts paying around 1.5% (Santander 123, Goldman Sachs Marcus).
