Comparing monthly tax with The Salary Calculator

Tonight I used The Salary Calculator ( https://www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk/) to compare what it says I should be paying in tax compared to what's on my Payslip.

For some reason I'm paying more tax, according to my payslip, than what's indicated using The Salary Calculator. National insurance matches as does pension contributions. I entered my tax code to the calculator too.

Can anybody think of any reason as to why the monthly tax I'm paying is higher than what's indicated on the calculator? Is anybody else seeing a similar result?

Not sure whats going on, but try this site as comparison. I get different results from them, but dont have any PAYE pay at the moment for real comparison.

I tried that one too and I got the same result as I did with The Salary Calculator. It makes me think that there could be something wrong at my employer's end but I'm not sure what.

Its should be pretty straightforward so long as your tax code is correct, then its usually automated and calculated by payroll software. your employer will just input your tax code and earnings. You could always ask them if theres anything you are not aware of. Could be how they pay your pension contribution. My other half works for a company that does something I dont understand with their pension scheme.

I think the different results im seeing on those sites is due to how they handle pension contributions and loss of personal allowance.
