Irish employer pension - transfer to UK?

I've got about 30k in euros in Ireland with AON Hewitt and the return has been extremely poor, and the website is crap, and the charges are absurd (2% on funds, choice of funds is 6, returns for global technology half what the equivalent in my UK SIPP is).

So i'd like to move it to the UK. AON Hewitt are not keen on this, and have given me a huge list of items to satisfy mostly around irish legislation and tax rules - i can drawdown from age 50, vs 55 in UK etc. I'm 44.

I am not sure who to ask for advice. I've asked AJBell but i'm wondering if i should get a financial advisor or something?

Anyone got experience of this sort of thing?
