Tracing a fraudulent card payment

Probably a long shot, but here we go anyway.....
Early this week someone got hold of my Amazon log-in, not sure how but doesn't really matter. I had two cards stored under my account (Amex and Visa Debit), when they tried to buy something on my Amex I got an alert straight on my phone so I logged in and found a new order created under a new name/address in my account. Quickly cancelled, no biggie but already new i'd been compromised. Changed my Amazon log-in, deleted the cards etc. Lo and behold two hours later an order was placed for £164.95 using my debit card, this time though it wasn't on my Amazon account so I can't cancel it or work out who/what.
I called Amazon and they froze my account, seemed a bit pointless but they were investigating so I let them crack on. Yesterday there was a second purchase of Amazon Prime subscription, again not on my account so I can't trace it. I have cancelled my debit card.
I know Amazon won't tell me anything about the purchases, even though they're using my card details which have been illegally obtained, is there anything i can do? Right n ow both payments are pending, the bank 'can't' cancel them and I am being reimbursed, but as I have a burning sense of injustice and I'd like a little revenge is there any way to trace these? I know Amazon can do it, but they won't officially.
Ultimately I'd be happy to pay just to see what can be achieved. It can't be right that these crimes are just written off?
