Hi,

I’m new to the whole car financing / PCP and was wondering if there is such a thing of an independent broker who can source a better finance rate than that offered by a dealer. I’m looking at 45k ish car and not sure the most economic way of buying it.

Any advice and help would be great.

Thanks

There are a number around but they will all use similar finance companies.

Clydesdale, they have a special finance section called Asset Finance, even as a non customer you can get a good rate, 4.4% APR.

Just visit their website and follow the links to car loans, the Asset Finance is down the bottom 0800 141 2231.

+1 to this. Had a couple cars with them and it's as cheap as you can get for HP with balloon.

Of course bank loans are available cheaper but with no balloon...

As above really, if you can use Clydesdale, they tend to be the cheapest.

If you cant for any reason, im happy to quote. Cars arent really my thing (business IT & software is), but im happy to do deals for forum members thumbup

Most brokers use the same funders, so (credit dependent) the difference in APR is purely down to the margin each individual company wants to make.

The ones that advertise/sponsor all the kids on youtube like JBR/Magnitude/Oracle all tend to charge circa 6.9% APR, i tend to be somewhere in the 5's (subject to underwriting).

I used a broker called Alex Cama, they were absolutely excellent. This was for a 2nd hand car from a specialist dealer costing a touch over £45K.

Indeed - Alex works at Capital Car Finance, I have used them before too, always competitive and eager to help

why is it preferable to have a balloon? ( genuine question )

Lower monthly payment if you don’t want to own the car.

Oh ok, thanks

just did a comparison on the above site against my car and the borrowing cost was approx £5k more vs my choice of a straightforward Hp agreement,

difference is I always intended keeping my car beyond the agreement thumbup
