New Employer Pension with HL
Discussion
Started new PAYE employment yesterday and new employer has a scheme with HL. I already have a pension with Roy Lon that I have paid in for the last 11 years (and consolidated prev DC) and a small SIPP with Fidelity I opened 2 years ago.
Couple of questions:
I'll ask whether they will use my RL pension for the employer contribution and/or the additional contributions I wish to make but assuming they can't won't.
Is it possible to periodically consolidate a pension from HL to RL?
HL have a rep for being expensive, is that a fair criticism?

HL can be expensive or dirt cheap.
You can have funds with them and be paying 0.45% on balances up to £250K or you can have shares, ETFs, and investment trusts and be paying nothing at all on any amount in some situations.
Trading frequency also comes into it.
With any platform the model doesn't tend to be one size fits all, it usually works for some people and not for others.
