Poor Service from IFAs
Discussion
Ditch them and manage it yourself, with funds invested in a low-cost index tracker. An MSCI world tracker would have returned a similar ~35% over the same period but you wouldn’t have paid anywhere near that ~2% a year in fees (e.g. I currently pay 0.15% + platform fee around £120/year with Interactive Investor)
37.4% (6.8% pa) is my net gain after all fees have been taken into account.
Paying for a service I've not been receiving is what I need to address.
Moving the account to Interactive Investor is certainly something to consider. Perhaps someone from Intelligent Money might care to respond.

You may be better positing on the IM thread at the top of the page. Paying for a service I've not been receiving is what I need to address.

ive not invested or used and IFA's but finally gotten around to talk to IM (PH and Nik) who have been great. Guided me as to what they do in simple language and does what I actually want it to do - ie provide a simple and easy way to put my pension into various funds and at low fees and good results. I feel that I can trust them to look after my money as they have their own skin in the game.Paying for a service I've not been receiving is what I need to address.

OK, thanks. I've just done so. I didn't realize it would be a problem to open a new thread.
It is not a problem, anyone can start any thread they like, it is just that I didn't want to breach any PH rules by answering here.Give me a minute and I'll respond on the IM thread.

Thank you very much for sharing here your experience with us, I appreaciate it.

For those who think I am anti-IFAs then have a read of this interview I did for Money Marketing prior to an IFA conference I was asked to speak at (Nik actually ended up doing it though!):
https://www.moneymarketing.co.uk/analysis/five-min...
Just click the close button on the pop up and you can read it withough registering.
What I was advising IFAs to do is what we do (but obviously we have deeper pockets than most IFAs - so I appreciate the differences).
Cheers once again Superlightr!
