Using iZettle (or similar) for charity

I'm a sole trader courier and was thinking how I could help the vulnerable get their shopping, etc.
I think the main problem will be "how do they pay me".
I thought the solution could be something like iZettle. There is a 1.75% + VAT on each transaction.
My problem is that I am VAT registered.
If someone wants £100 shopping I could charge them £83.33 + VAT. I get £100 and they get their shopping.
The problem is that every £100 of shopping would cost me £12.10 (I use the flat rate VAT scheme [10%]). If I weren't VAT registered, it would only cost me a much more manageable £2.10.
Can anyone think of a more economical way for people who can't leave their house to safely pay for their shopping?
