Chargeback if airline goes bust

If I booked flights now and the airline went bust, could I still initiate a chargeback despite COVID19 meaning I was aware it was a risk?

Thinking about taking a punt on sub 200 quid returns to NY for September with Virgin. Appreciate I'll get nothing back if due to COVID19 it isn't possible to travel in September.
