Travel Insurance - Would they pay £40K for a flight?
Discussion
I keep reading about Brits stuck overseas and a long way from home.
Airlines seem to be making hay with talk of some flights costing anywhere between £15 - 40K
As your original flight was presumably cancelled by the airline, could you put these fares to your travel insurer?
Then presumably the insurer would slog it out with the airline?

No flights are costing anywhere near that much
There was a story in the paper the other day about a couple stuck in OZ and couldn't find a flight back for less than $10k
30 seconds on Skyscanner found dozens of flights for less than £1k

I'm pretty sure all those stuck abroad know how the internet works and I'll bet none of those Skyscanner flights are actually flying.
Easyjet are still showing holidays departing in April.

It would be a good way for someone like Richard Branson to improve his profile. He's not come out of the virus well so far!
Government has already lined up £75m to help airlines repatriate those stuck abroad. Seem's half like a bailout in disguise if you ask me. I say help airlines who haven’t burned all their cash on buy backs.
Help travellers who’d headed out before there was trouble on the horizon.
Leave everyone who knowingly put themselves at risk.
