HMRC proof I moved out of a property?

I moved into my new flat in November but have yet to officially inform HMRC, but can I backdate the time I moved or will they officially take the date I inform as the time of moving?

To give some background, I moved out of a different flat I wish to rent out, I may come to sell it in years to come and I would rather have a valuation pre end of 2019 so that if I do sell it I have less CGT to pay.

What is the address HMRC use to comminicate with you? If it's still the old flat, you haven't really moved out have you.

Do you have a dated valuation you are planning to rely on for future CGT calculations?

Not required a surveyor can complete a retrospective valuation.
