Car Insurance - a question

So.... I’m currently leasing an Alfa 4C which goes back in July this year. Love the car and plan to buy one next summer rather than lease. However, is there a way to protect some element of historic car instance on a car like this? I’ve had company cars for years so I didn’t really want the 2 years I’ve built up in the current 4C to go to waste when it goes in the summer and have to start as a brand new driver next summer....

NCB normally is valid for 2 years anyway IIRC

Ah right. I did look into this but couldn’t find any evidence to suggest this was a given.
