Old share certificates

Just having a rummage around some old files and I found share certificates for 2 companies that seem to still be trading.

These date from my still painful dabble in shares dealing from circa 2000.

So I have 57 shares in Business Control Solutions Plc and 111 shares in SCi Entertainment Group Plc.

They are likely to be registered to an old address.

Should I hold or sell?

Can you even still sell from paper certificates without getting screwed over in fees.

I make them worth ~£2000 unless I'm still crap at understand how shares actually work.

If they are worth ~£2000, I'm still ~£8000 down thanks mainly to Eidos and Last Minute dot com.

I see Martha Lane whatsherface has done well since she took my money.

But I'm not bitter (best said using a strong NI accent loudly).

Going to take a look down the back of the sofa now.

Well in the bright side, if you'd spent £10K on a holiday you'd have £0 left...

If the shares have been £2K for years I'd sell and invest in something that isn't a donkey.

I remember the .com boom/crash very well, That was when I was paying an IFA to 'manage' the investments.... Of course, he sat on his arse and did nothing at any time. His bill 'Sitting on my arse: £300' didn't get paid.

On closer inspection I think they are both dead so my certificates are, as expected, worthless.

How did you manage to make them worth £2K if the companies have gone phut? One must be wrong...

I hate single company shares.
