SIP/ESPP - Is it worth it?

Hi,
Complete novice to all things financial, and have never held shares.
My company is gifting 1 free share in September, they've also offered a SIP (company gives 1 share for every 3 bought) and a ESPP plan (company adds £1 for every £3 invested) that we can invest into.
My basic question is should I be taking up either of these options, and if so, are these worth investing decently, or just as a small side thing that if pay off are just lucky? I wouldn't be in a position to invest high thousands,comfortable would be portion of disposable 50-150ish a month, or if its a wise move, i could put a 2-3000 from savings into it.
