Anyone know the best way to pay for an item in Europe in Euros?
It is circa EUR 9100 and wanted to know the best manner in getting the best rate and minimise fees?
I don't have a multicurrency account (First Direct) but they are able to do it for me.
1.05984 is the rate, with no other charges.

It seems that TransferWise is the way to go.
I was all set to do that, but a member on the forum here sent me a msg.
He has a company that can do this for me. ....
We are talking a good few thousand pounds so I was on my guard somewhat, but it was not necessary.
Toby from Misano Payments contacted me and we had a chat over the phone.
He helped me navigate the website (very easy) and then let me know the rate that he was able to secure.
Admittedly it was not as good as I was seeing online elsewhere, but I asked if he could come closer and sure enough it was all done.
Toby really helped put my mind at lease and ensured the that the whole transaction was completed and answered any questions that I had (my bank were overly cautious on me wanting to move a large sum to a new recipient).
To top it all off, I received some flowers in the post today, so hopefully this will distract my wife from my new purchase .... Nice touch!!
A fledgling company that I will definitely use again. I like the attention to detail and fact that any questions I asked were answered to my satisfaction. I wish you the best with Misano Payments, and urge other PH members to consider using this facility rather than the 'default'

Of course I applied caution and did as many checks as I could. I'll bear them in mind
Having the MD of a firm talking to you isn't the 'norm', but all checked out.
Lively chap and I was impressed with his attitude towards my concerns and ay no point did I feel pressured to make the trade.
I know there is a larger more well known option, heck everyone else uses them it seems! But give David a chance vs Goliath.
