Tracing lost pension details

Is there any way to trace a pension which you have paid into without knowing any of the details?

I left full time employment around 10 years ago where up until that point I had been paying into the company's pension scheme.

I didn't continue paying into it after leaving and just forgot all about it. Is there anyway of retrieving the details for said pension?

The company was bought out but that link has found the pension scheme.

The ever useful MAS website provide additional details including draft letter to help with your search. At the last resort, you can call PTS which is a free service.

Just a comment with general advice about pension tracing.

The web has a number of sites offering a pension tracing service but there is only one official government established site, the one mentioned above. All others will seek a fee for their services, either as a %age of the value of the pension traced, or a flat fee. Why pay a fee if you can get the government service for free?
