LPA suggestions /help /advice.

Firstly Happy Christmas - as far as possible.
I have recently had registered the above for an elderly Aunt ( no one else in the family that would do ) but am fast finding out this is possibly a full time job !
She is currently " temporarily " in a care home and not able to live by herself so I now need to think about selling her home so as Attorney we can raise sufficient funds to allow her to remain in this care home for the rest of her life -she is currently 81 and in " fair " health.
The care home seems good and she seems happy there.
Just to add to the fun she hasn't lived in her own home for a decade and I have yet to see it !
She was living with a friend elsewhere who just to add to the story then died leaving her some of the estate which is then separately being contested -I'm not even attempting to get involved in that one yet.
This means too that I literally have no idea as to what bank accounts she may have ,where does her pension get paid etc etc.
With the LPA registration I received a list of some numbers to call but none appeared particularly helpful or illuminating as to where I might actually start my detective work.
I realise I need to get to the house ( T4 restrictions aside ) and try and see what papers I might find and also talk with Estate Agents to see if anything helpful there in terms of clearing the house and then selling.
I'm sure this isn't all as unusual as I may think so if any fellow PH's have any practical advice or thoughts I would be very appreciative.
In the meantime lets hope 2021 is somewhat better than this one.

Once you've got into the house, make the bank statements your first port of call to find out what income and outgoings there are.
Obviously the care home will be able to tell you where they're being paid from, in the event you find nothing at all.
Then it's a question of registering your LPA with the bank so that you can use the account and away you go.

Does she know you are selling her house? I had LPA for my mother who was sectioned, she had said she didn’t want to go home, and it was obvious that she wouldn’t be able to, I found a buyer, at which point my mother changed her mind!
What followed was some embarrassing back tracking!
She never moved home and in the end I sold the house after she died, but it didn’t seem sensible to remove the hope of returning home while she was alive.
