Morning,

Looking for recommendations on books, blogs, podcasts, websites etc to read up and learn more on personal finance and future planning.

Main topics I’m looking to cover are around pensions, long term saving and investing, being more tax efficient etc.

Cheers,
Gilmore

Lars Kroijer is great when it comes to teaching how to invest sensibly for the long term. His videos are particularly good

https://www.kroijer.com/

Also, if you haven’t already done so then browse back through the pages of this forum as there’s a vast amount of great advice on here which will help you with anything you could possibly need to know.

A while back, I was googling / researching on a particular subject, and I found this blog (see below link) with some excellent articles covering a vast array of investment and retirement related topics.

You can also have a chat with Nik on the Intelligent Money sticky at the top of this forum. It is free and he would be happy to go over all of this with you.

If you want really basic, I would start with "How to own the world" by Andrew Craig. It's really easy to read and explains in laymen's terms. This was enough to get me sorted for passive investments.

Once you've read that, don't invest in the fund he set up. It hasn't performed well due to its small critical mass meaning fees are too large a % of the fund to become a worthwhile investment.

I started in his fund then transferred to Intelligent Money and Vanguard where my funds have been performing much better.

As Julian mentioned above, it's worth setting yourself up for a free chat with Nik at Intelligent Money and worth following the thread in this forum.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the recommendations.

Pete Matthew’s through Meaningful Money has been spot on for what I was looking for, has made things nice and simple for me.

Highly recommend his stuff and as much as I enjoyed the book there’s lots of content within the podcasts!
