Good day fellow stockpickers!

I've been waiting more than a week now for a stock order to execute, from the AIM market.
Nobody selling must mean none available for little me?
I've only recently ported to online dealing so perhaps it's happened to me before, with brokers, but I've simply not noticed it.
Have you experienced such delays? Even through my online dealing I've not experienced delay beyond a matter of minutes and I do deal with other AIM stocks etc...

I've experienced delays on the FTSE when I put a maximum price limit on a BUY order and the stock price had risen before it was executed.

On the AIM (assuming the price that you are offering is higher than the "bid" amount) it might be liquidity issues.

If its an AIM share, you may have to buy in small chunks, as there simply aren't enough shares being traded to fulfil a single big purchase.

If you can find the info, have a look at the value of recent trades to see where your intended purchase fits with those that have gone through. On LSE e.g. this on this page for SAE LSE Share info page it is the fourth icon on the top row from the right.

Thank you for this, I shall have a look into these things!
Maybe I can sort myself out before the share price goes too far!

I wasn't even a sparkle in my father's eye when he was about, LOL!
Although you'd think I'd be able to sort out a bloody purchase on my own at my age!

It's not that common on AIM as the stocks must have certain liquidity levels to meet exchange criteria. It was more an issue decades ago on OFEX.

Are you sure that your order is in the market and not just a limit on a broker's platform? Ie the market has no idea it exists and so it will only fill once the market trades at or through in your size or more?

Look up the stock on the London Stock Exchange website it will have details of daily monthly volumes and trades that have gone through that day.

Look at the Trade Recap tab like this one. It could be just be because it’s an AIM stock the broker you’re using is not that proficient...if it’s very illiquid they must be just looking at the electronic systems and seeing there’s no size offered. Requires a phone call to the market maker to find out if they can source stock at a higher price etc. Old school style !
