Self Assessment (2019/20) Submission Deadline Extension

Being reported in The Times, that Sunak may extend the SA deadline this year from end January to end of March.

I know HMRC have already stated they will take a sympathetic view for any late submissions genuinely due to Covid, but would imagine a blanket extension would be far easier to manage all round.

If they do decide to extend the deadline, surely they would need to announce it soon.

Rumours Chancellor may be helping out company directors. Would allow those to then pay.

Otherwise not sure how 2 months will help, those in debt will be in more debt and still be unable to pay.
