PCP vwfs

So my sister has a pcp with vwfs.

Due to covid she fell behind a few months. She wrote to them in November and set up a payment plan (which is in reality quite high imo) she agreed to the plan and provided bank details for them to take the direct debit out on the 31/12/20

Low and behold they never took the dd, and are now saying she’s broke the payment plan ?

What’s the best way to approach this for her as she needs the car. She was shielding for the best part of last year but has now managed to negotiate a working pattern with her boss.

Er, phone them up and ask why they didn't take the direct debit?

£5 says they were expecting her to pay 'manually' rather than via a Direct Debit.

I'd also be concerned about the credit rating which will now be lodged against her,because you say she needs her car she might not be able to replace it with another one from VWFS or indeed any other form of credit. !
