Using Hargreaves Lansdown to invest in SPAC

I'm currently on hold with HL who would be the obvious people to answer this....

Does anyone know why I can not invest in a NYSE listed SPAC with HL? I search on the deal tab and it wont show me the SPAC at all.....

Assuming they wont allow it can anyone offer advise on the easiest (or best) way to do this?

If I search NYSE:XXXX it shows up though so I assume it's listed on the exchange?

Yeah should be, I was going to look it up to see if it’s available on interactive investor, you could try IG or Trading 212.

Edit to add it doesn't show on interactive investor but does show on Trading 212. Weird!

Why not just buy it via T212?

I’d be interested in knowing which SPAC....

There's a form you need to complete to trade us stocks. Can't remember the name, but if you haven't completed it, you can't deal.

Not all brokers list SPACs before they flip though.

Interactive investor seems to do them all

I've done a W8 before so I suspect you are right that they wont allow it before they flip. Bit of a pain as I would rather keep everything in one place than open yet another account....
