Current Account Switch

Has anyone switched their current account using the "Current Account Switch Guarantee"

It claims to make it all as seemless as possible but I'm sometimes a bit of a cynic with stuff like this.

Anything to be made aware of before looking any further in to it? Any do's or don'ts?

I moved to Starling and was excellent. I had to update a couple of my own accounts like Paypal etc but worked really well, and good communication throughout.

I did RBS to First Direct a few years ago - Absolutley painless, and as advertised. They didn't miss a single standing order or direct debit.

I'm thinking of moving from HSBC to Nationwide so hopefully it's as straight forward as a few have mentioned.

I did it for my mother from Barclays to Nationwide
I was well surprised it went very smoothly

I did Smile to NatWest, went through without issues (also got £175 from NatWest as a switching bonus).

I went from HSBC to NatWest last Autumn and it was seamless. I’d have no hesitation in recommending the service.

Another HSBC to NatWest here. We switched a joint account that created a bit of faff. But NatWest were very helpful and got it sorted. Their rewards account and credit card have been good so far. Got the £125 switch bonus too!

I’ve done it a lot lately (well last year now) for the switching bonus.

Halifax to Nationwide was painless
Nationwide to NatWest was painless
NatWest to HSBC was painless.

Girlfriend is currently switching from Nationwide to First Direct and going well so far.

Did get a bit worried when I moved some money from an ISA that had to get paid into the account that it was paid from.

It seemed to go from my ISA to my old account to my new one without a problem.

In short...it’s a good system and works.
