Not on land registry

Ive inherited a house which isnt on the land registry ( brought by dad pre 1990). I do have the deeds but i cant transfer it to me without a land registry number which i dont have as its never been registered.

Is it just as simple as applying for a first registration and sending the deeds to them in my late dads name?

Sounds like it’ll all be done as part of probate (which I presume is in the works?), as first registration will be triggered, I think anyway.
