Share dealing fees

I've got £700 in shares in abrdn plc. The used to be Standard Life shares and I've had them so long that I've forgotten how I came to have them.
I received correspondence today from Equiniti Financial Services Ltd, who claim to manage the arbdn share account, inviting me to either sell my shares or buy some more for a fee of £50.
As I'm never going to make a fortune from 246 shares, I'm inclined to sell them, but a fee of £50 seems a bit salty.
Are there any better ways to dispose of them?

Seems odd. I had shares with Equiniti for about 10 years and they never contacted me asking if I wanted to sell them or buy more.

Open an account elsewhere, do a transfer in of the shares (should be free, instruct via new platform), sell for less.

Fidelity, Charles Stanley Direct etc. Take your pick.

Same here, got the same number of shares because of holding an endowment mortgage policy when SL demutualised.
I guess the offer is due to the new name, and the move of Registrar from Link.

Some wag said rather than SL-Aberdeen, it was now A burden.

Are they paper certificates or in a CREST account?
