Anyone requested a tax refund recently

I completed my self assessment and I have overpaid my tax and I'm due a refund.

Anyone any experience of how long this takes?

My wife received one a couple of years ago, and got it in 2 weeks. I requested mine 4 weeks ago and haven't heard anything although they have altered my tax code for this tax year so that I won't need to claim a refund next year.

Don't fancy ringing them and being on hold for an hour.

Make sure you ask for the refund to be paid electronically. HMRC have stated that, due to Covid, they are not processing cheques.

Yep, and I'd asked for it to be paid direct to my account, but good point.
