I'm in the process of re-mortgaging.

I seem to have accidentally employed Habito to deal with it. I wasn't really planning to use them, but I don't really understand the market that much, and this is the first time I've ever actually re-mortgaged I was playing about with their online calculator to see how things would look once we're free of our 'over a barrel' FTB rate and it snowballed from there.

Honestly though, I wish I just used Go Compare, or just google.

The rate is no different than I would get direct, they didn't appear to have any insight into underwriting criteria for any of the various lenders. We're constantly being swapped between various people in Habito, and they really can't understand simple things. Trying to explain my Wife effectively has two jobs with the same employer completely threw them, to make it easier, and because we'd pass the affordability checks easily without them, they decided to only include her core job, but that seemed to make it worse because they couldn't seem to grasp why she pays two lots of Student loan, pension, Tax etc, they have all the paperwork, but it seems they find it easier to constantly call / e-mail me.

Also, despite the fact the lender hasn't actually approved the mortgage yet, we got calls out of the blue from a Solicitor and Surveyor, who've done their bit... I'm wondering if the lender doesn't approve it for whatever reason, I'll end up owing them both...

From a lenders perspective, Habito aren't always the easier to get in contact with, but not as bad as L&C.

Sarnie is the resident Broker so may be worth dropping him an email.

Send sarnie a PM, he sorted our first mortgage for us this summer. Absolutely brilliant.

Halifax were the best in the market on 75% LTV about a week or so ago (1.14%).

Took me 4 days to get a mortgage offer from them. Couldn't believe it.
