I mean I ain't doing to shabby (relative to me).

But yeah it's happened. I would say she has jumped up the bracket considerably since we decided she go take the risk.

I ain't lying when I say it feels odd. Tensions could arise.. And I'm on first name terms with the delivery guys.

It's literally taking the piss now.

My wife earns more than me, too. I don’t have the same sense of reluctance as you. Is this something you wish to discuss further? scratchchin

I used to dream of my wife earning more than me so I wouldn't have to work as hard.

Why would it be an issue to a well balanced bloke in an equal relationship?

Given how hard she works, if my wife earned more than me I’d be thrilled.

Sadly she’s an academic and as an in-house lawyer I do ok but am now way behind my peers who stayed in private practice.

Envy and hurt pride are a dangerous cocktail - be careful OP that it doesn’t eat you up and cause tensions better you both.

I recently made my Wife redundant from my ltd company, which I'm closing due to taking a permie job, rather than putting up.with the IR35 bullst.
She wants to know where she can invest her 30K. Erm, what do you mean your 30K ? All the time I was earning more than her, it was our money. Now its her money.
Note, most of it is now in my stocks and shares isa or spent on my new car.

My wife earns more than double my salary, absolutely no issue with it at all. She works a lot harder than I do laugh

If you don't want her any more I might be interested.

Through our married life we have see-sawed. Sometimes one earning more than the other.
Right now it has settled on her earning more.

When we first were married we set up a joint account, everything goes into & comes out of that.

We each get the same amount of ‘spending money’ each month into our own accounts to use / save as we see fit.

This has avoided many arguments over the years.

Embrace her income & enjoy the prosperity.

For a while my wife earned more than me. I'm not proud, I'll happily spend anyone's money.

I earn more than my wife, but she spends more than I do. Would be quite happy to reverse that role...

Serious post from me. OP It's not psychologically healthy to feel that.

Have you thought about chatting to a pyschologist about why...before it becomes an issue.

Sense of self for many is often tied up with status and / or wealth... whether we like it or not.

Having a partner that leap frogs you can threaten that.

For a long time I earned more than my wife, but in recent years she's overtaken me (slightly).

No issue with it at all, she works hard at her job (harder than me)

We tend to have similar interests so share our money anyway smile
