Currently just entered year 4 of a 5yr fixed rate and starting to think about remortgaging however with a new addition, the wife on maternity leave & possibly going part time but not confirmed I am wondering how much this will affect remortgaging either with the same lender or new.

Ideally for less hassle I'm happy to stay but with a slightly better rate but I'm not sure I'd have to go through eligibility checks again or if they just assume all is the same and we just lock in a new rate for another X years?

The possibility of part time at the moment is just that so assuming the bank ask we can say she's planning on returning full time.

You will be able to transfer to a new rate with the current lender...........but remortgaging whilst on Maternity leave is no drama really smile

depends on LTV. if you've plenty of equity they won't mind as if you default they'll take the house. if you're on a 95% mortgage they won't be keen
