Additional stamp duty rebate

I know I should ask HMRC but thought I'd try here first for some guidance as PH members may have had a similar experience.

Completed December '20, paid the higher amount of stamp duty as my wife and I both have BTL's. We did live in one of them a while ago (moved to BTL approx 2 years ago). Am I able to request a rebate on my stamp duty?

If you sell both BTLs you may have a shot. Absent that, no.

An update to this. I spoke with HMRC over the course of a few months as this was all done via post, provided screenshots and proof of my position at the time of exchange and managed to get a refund on my stamp duty.
