so Long story short I rented out a flat to someone who left it in a right dump and left without paying the 3k owed after they finally left ..Still don’t have any forward address or anyway of finding them .
They moved out over 6 months ago but he recently deliberately registers a car and sends v5 to old address long after leaving.with dates to proof it (I only opened it as it was already partly opened and I was worried about debt recovery arriving ) so I opened a few more and then i realise he was paid nearly 5k in a car insurance claim (about 3 weeks after buying this car ) and used the wrong address for the claim .a neighbour also claims there was 2 of them living there and pets not the 1 single person as in tenancy contract .


The police were not really interested so I posted it back to sender with a note explaining suspicious activity concerns
If it was insurance fraud they already paid the man so might not get it back but I don’t understand why someone deliberately sends v5 to somewhere they don’t live and also they appear to have instructed Royal Mail to collect parcels last months and then a few days ago there prescription arrives (normally have to be re ordered I thought)

Is the place empty and unused currently - and are you absolutely sure they haven't got a key, or some other way in? Just thinking they may have been popping round in the dead of night to collect any post they want, and leave the rest so it looks like they haven't done so.

As for the car stuff, maybe it's a cash for crash scam. Engineer an accident, claim personal injury, collect payout via bank transfer and then leave any and all following paperwork to go to an old address while they communicate via email and phone with the insurers.

Could be as simple as an A or B scenario?

Option A: Individual is a criminal genius.
Option B: Individual is thick as mince.

Odds surely err towards the latter which may make it difficult to fathom the practical logic of an idiot attempting to run scams?

His car is motd and taxed but not insured .it seems like fraud to me with the pay out but not much proof.maybe the payout was to do with another car or that car was insured at the time
