I am slowly bringing some aspects of our business into the 21st Century. Expenses is next on the list!

We currently use Excel, what apps / systems are recommended? It needs to be simple for the users and configurable for the accountants!

It is no more than 10 people, so rules out some I think

My employer uses SAP concur. (not sure on licensing fees, may be prohibitive for smaller firms). But it is fairly straight forward to use, in app.

Same. Last 3 companies over past decade have used Concur.

Sage200. We can import files into it to automatically post transactions, but nothing quite as flash as would be offered with Xero for example.

There are add-ins that allow users to record theirnexpenses on an app which integrates directly with Sage. I think Sage also has its own self-service app.

Yes, but not specifically for on-premise Sage 200 I believe.

I have used concur in the past - It's OK...

But from a user perspective, I prefer expensify. Similar feature set, but I prefer the UX and flow of expensify from a claim point of view.

(Unfortunately, we've just announced a move away from Expensify to Oracle - oh dear.....)

I don't know about Concur but SAP is an absolute bd to implement.

We are moving to Continia and interfacing it to Business Central

ETA There appear to be various Expenses modules that plug-in to SAGE. I'd have a look at them and see what suits.

SAP is viewed as a little old school but Concur was their attempt to get with the cool SaaS (Software as a Service) kids. They acquired it.

Like others have used concur for years, the app is straight forward but my current employer, a trendy Californian SW shop uses expensify. It really is rather good. Take a photo of the receipt in the app and it reads all the details so i just need to go in later to add the made up names of people who weren't there to make my claims look reasonable add colleagues and customer names.

Concur is a beeitch to set up, if you are a small company.
