S&P 500 Index Fund

Hi folks would someone mind explaining the difference between these 2 funds please

Ones an index fund (traded once a day) and the other is an ETF (very similar to an index fund) and can be traded “live”

There *should* be very little difference between the two of them, so I’d choose the one that is cheapest to you (ongoing charge, trading fee’s)

Main difference is that ETFs can be shorted (ie money placed on them to drop in value).

Also ETFs can be cheaper to hold on a platform as they're treated like shares.

If you're buying them on HL, then a major difference is that the platform charges for funds on HL are pretty much uncapped, whereas ETFs are considered shares and the platform charges capped as Simpo Two suggested above.
