Asking for a friend..... really.

Any recommendations for a SIPP. He's not wealthy, or financially savvy. Just wants to open one online, pay in £200/month (I assume that'll be grossed up by the provider to £250 as his £200 represents £250 earnings less 20% tax), and they do everything else. Invest it, monitor it, switch investments etc. He's happy to pick a risk profile and the like at the outset and then he just wants to leave them to run it for him. He's 57, will be working at least another 8 years, probably 10.

I have accounts with A J Bell. It’s all very user friendly and you can see at a glance on the app how each fund is performing.

I picked the funds and mix I wanted and left it to do it’s thing. Transactions are simple and transparent.

I suppose the thing to do is compare transaction charges and holding fees etc to see what will suit him best.

I was recently surprised by my employer's choice of pension provider.
We're with B&CE People's Pension which I assumed was chosen because it's easy to administrate or something. Turns out it's performing quite well and the charges are minimal. Compared it to Vanguard and my funds are performing similarly, but costs are about 40% less.

I get maximum rebate which kicks in over £50,000; https://thepeoplespension.co.uk/member-annual-mana... - scroll down.
