Hi guys as per the title,

I was thinking the other day that having home insurance (with my watches insured) and car insurance separately is a little bit ineffectient way of doing things.

My question was this, what providers come highly recommended for home, car and watch insurance combined. I ask this as I do not want my watch collection to be under insured and also its just a waste of time.

Look forward to your responses gents.

Is the word 'ineffectient' in your post a combination of ineffective and inefficient? biggrin

Depending on what you're insuring, you may actually find that it's better to have the three insured separately. You may find a broker who will provide you with a bundle of all three - but ultimately the cover really depends on the underwriter and policy details.

I spent some time comparing home insurance policies, and found I could get some watches on there too for a resonable increase in premium.

However, there's no way my home insurer would touch my car, due to modifications, and even if they did the car policy didn't seem as decent as one from a specialist. I spoke to my car insurance broker, and they can get house insurance, at a competitive price allegedly, and they wanted at 3x for home cover with my watches...

Horses for courses, but if you mention 'watch collection' and deem it worth insuring, you may find it optimal to use a specialist for some/all of the policies.

There's been a few threads covering this on here in the past - Hiscox, NFU and IIRC Zurich Private Client Insurance also come up - you need quite a substantial amount of cover with the latter I believe. There was also mention of

Perhaps the word inefficient was a poor choice of words.

My car is currently standard and my watch forum standards my watch "collection" is modest. I do not plan on having more than three watches in my collection at anytime. The collection is definitely worth insuring.

I will look for threads on this regarding insurance.

Ive trawled through the forum posts on pistonheand have found twelve providers that I feel will be able to get my teeth into. Something that I will be doing is looking for insurance brokers. I do not know why I didn't consider this previosuly.

You’ll struggle to get motor on your home/jewellery insurance, but the same insurer will happily do a “portfolio” deal if you fall into the MNW\HNW policy limits.

As above these are insurers such as Aviva distinct, hiscox, Zurich private clients and Chubb…there are more, but these are the main players.

Lots of benefits to having these policies too

The non-PH answer is Admiral multi-cover. You can have multiple cars and homes, with high value items added on to the home policy. https://www.admiral.com/home-insurance/optional-co...
