I'm using the VitalTax bridging software for the first time & have hit a slight problem as I'm on the Flate Rate scheme. Usually I enter the Box 6 figure as "Total value of sales and other supplies, including VAT" but the VitalTax description calls for "Total Value of sales excluding VAT", which is the normal case for non-Flat Rate users.

Anyone on the Flate Rate scheme use VitalTax & if so what figure do you use? I'm likley to just use the VAT inclusive number as that is what I think HMRC will want. I've sent a question to VitalTax but no idea how long it will take them to reply.

You could use the free 100PcVatFreeBridge App and get the wording right for businesses on the falt rate scheme https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/imgs/4.gif

Actually, since HMRC just get the 9 box values as long as your box 6 value is VAT inclusive then it probably doesn't matter. However, still nice for your records to have the correct wording.

As author of the 100PcVatFreeBridge App, I'm obviously biased but plenty of recommendations on TrustPilot and works well with XLS or CSV files.

Ok thanks, I'll have a look at that.

Yes you'll use the VAT inclusive figure as you have previously. VitalTax are using the standard descriptions for each box (as you'd expect to be honest).

Old style VAT returns were never changed to accommodate the different ways figures are entered under the Flat Rate Scheme. It always caused lots of confusion and many Flat Rate Scheme submissions I reviewed that had been submitted by the business themselves without professional assistance were incorrect.
