Paper Shares - Cheapest way to sell?

Someone I know has some small share holding but all held in paper format.

Divis are always received by cheque and they bank this.

It's time to sell them as part of tidying up the finances.

I'd imagine the cheapest way to do that is open up an online account, transfer them in and then sell them.

What's the cheapest platform to do this?

My wife sold some paper shares via x-o.co.uk about 18 months ago, no problems at all.
