Balance transfer wife’s credit card to me

Evening team. I want a new 0% balance transfer card which I can consolidate my wife’s credit card on to. Customer services are a bloody pain and often don’t seem to know their own T’s and C’s but so far Sainsburys have said it must be in my name and HSBC are out as it’s their card. NatWest Indian call centre didn’t really answer the question but thought no. Barclaycard explicitly say yes on their website but Martin Lewis gave me 80% chance of that.

Virgin Money are pre-approved 100% so has anyone done this with them? Anyone else let you transfer wife’s credit card across to your own?

I did this with my OH a few years ago. They just asked for the credit card number to transfer the balance from, no issue that it was a different name.

I wanted to do this with the OH credit card a few weeks ago, Tesco credit card explicitly says the transfer needs to be from a card in your name

I’ve just taken a Virgin one as they’ve said I can do this if she’s a named cardholder
