Hi

Is anyone aware of any good websites specialising in lettings for a couple of months / and or Corporate Lettings?

I've been really caught out by the slowdown in flat sales in London and unable to sell mine (move back to regions for family reasons) and need to rent and maybe try again (for 3rd time) in 6 months or so.

Thanks - appreciated

I might be missing something in your circumstances, but at this time of year wouldn't it be a good idea to approach sites that normally punt holiday lets, if there's not much demand for them just now and over winter....?

From memory, the tax rules require owners to have it available for 240 (ish) days per year meaning 5 months of the year could be let as 'not holiday lets'.

You might find that many private owners would welcome the idea of someone paying them something over what might well otherwise be a dead period of several months, I know I would, but you don't want to move to Devon do you!

The only caveat I would mention would be to say that with heating costs rocketing the way that they have, it's gotten to the point that it might not be possible to break even with a winter let, so some owners might opt to shut up shop for four months, except for the (more) lucrative 2-weeks at Xmas and NY.

I would try AirB&B and VRBO for starters, and then some of the larger "Cottage" agencies, it might end being a case of making a lot of enquiries to find the right motivated owner...

HTH
Nick.

All good ideas but caught by the realities of living in a [10] flat development with a residents association etc. I can get away with an Airbnb for 6weeks+ but short term stuff completely off the agenda brenda - shared security codes etc etc.

Thanks though

A word of caution, 'corporate lets' or 'businesses renting' is often code for AirBnB. There is a whole movement of people renting places through their business and subletting them as airbnb's. If you do go down this route do your own due diligence on exactly which company is renting and what their business is and stipulate no airbnb etc
