We recently seen an advert for Chase which seems to me a large USA based online banking institution who are now in the UK.

We currently have a fairly basic Santander 123 account which does the job but we dont really get any benefits, we spend most of the year abroad so dont need a high street bank hence why we are considering the above plus the 3% AER, we usually have anywhere between £15k - £130k in the account with money coming and going (buying and financing property) so the 3% AER will add up, they also offer an extra savings account up to 5%.

Does anyone on here bank with them, if so how are you finding their app, customer service etc?
If not, any alternative recommendations?

I have had one since they started, the best customer service I have come across in ages.

I use it linked to my current account, transfers are limited to £35k per day but it is instant, no messing about. I also use their cash back debit card, again faultless.

It makes the usual suspects (Santander etc) look like they are still using coal.

If you are talking about £130k+ I would split it with another bank.

Thats good to hear smile

The account varies, one month we might have £130k in, the next £15k until the project is done so its up and down. I was thinking of just using Chase.
I was also hoping for some premium option with extras but happy to give them a go and see how things pan out. It also helps they dont charge for international use with me being abroad most of the year!

I've found Chase to be excellent, I'll have had mine almost a year. I think I possibly went for mine originally to get the then whopping 1% interest.

Cash back and round up is good.

No transaction fees for foreign transactions.

Made really easy to have separate 'savings pots' with different account numbers. It's mostly psychological but I've always liked separating my savings based on what they're intended for e.g. holidays, Christmas, house improvements, general savings.

Only thing they weren't offering (might be now?) Is joint accounts. My Mrs has her own bit we'd have a joint one for all our household spending ideally.

Another + for Chase here.

The only niggle I have with them is that it is 'mobile only', and there is no way to access your account from a PC/Mac and therefore, some potentially useful functions such as downloading transaction data are not possible...

Of the noobs I've tried; Chase, Starling and Monzo, Chase is the one I use most frequently.
Salary and DDs are still with First Direct, but balance gets transferred to Chase for day-to-day spending and it's working out nicely.
