I parked my car somewhere new back in January, it was one of this ones where you have to download the App to pay etc.
I usually try to avoid new Apps but this time there was no alternative parking available at the location (approx 20 min walk to the next best parking).
Recently I got a fine from them saying I had parked without paying, usual pic of Car Reg etc.
So, I checked the App on my phone and saw I had paid, I also confirmed this on my bank account.
Therefore I appealed, and now they are saying that I paid for location A whereas I was parked in location B.
Obviously there are no clear signs and the names of the two places are not immediately obvious.
Does anyone know the legal situation here - I have paid for my parking, does it matter if the location is not quite right?
Thanks in advance.

There are a few rules with these.
Never admit you or who was driving. (I expect you may have already done this in your appeal).
Therefore refer to the driver as 'the driver'.
If you are passing by it is worth taking some pictures of the carpark signage, entrance, and various other signs.
Your appeal will be bounced back you will receive an awful lot of threatening letters from 'debt collection agencies'.
After 6 years they cannot take you to court.
You have two options, either pay the invoice (it isn't a fine). Or sit it out until you get a court summons and put your side of the story forward with evidence. If you choose the latter just keep a usb stick of your evidence (app screen shot/bank statement ect/images). If you lose in court it may cost you in the region of £300 rather than £60. If you win, I believe you can claim reasonable costs to yourself.
I was in a similar situation around 7 years ago, meter ate my money and didn't give me a ticket, out of principle I parked anyway, I got a ticket. Out of principle I didn't pay the fine and prepared for my 30 mins in court.
There are some good Facebook groups which offer advice, again do not admit guilt on these pages as it may be used against you. Refer to the driver as driver.
Basically these companies are scum, that extract money through scare tactics.
I personally avoid private car parks where possible now.

Got to be a bit careful with these apps in my experience. I used Ringo to park on the sea front at Scarborough. The parking seems to be divided into sections, each with their own four digit code. There is no way to tell where one section ends and the next starts, so anyone parked on or near the boundary could easily fall foul. The app supposedly works it out for you but, to avoid any margin for error, I parked right next to a ticket machine with a code displayed on it, yet the app still picked up the code for a different zone, so I manually keyed in the code that was displayed on the machine.
We have a shopping centre within 5mins drive from our house which we visit most days nipping into Aldi. It recently had ANPR cameras installed and letters/invoices are sent out if you exceed 3hrs stay.
Recently we got one such invoice through the post for allegedly exceeding the three hours. Their camera has obviously captured us arriving, but not leaving. It appears then to have failed to capture us arriving the following day, but got us leaving. So the camera think we stayed overnight. We are appealing.
