Tax Acct needed West Berks

On the off chance but does anyone know of an accountant in West Berks (Newbury preferably) that can help me talk to HMRC 'properly' about a ballsed up self-assessment from 20/21? Long and short of its that they are asking me to pay quite a few pounds for reclaimed tax. My fault, I arsed up but to avoid a penalty HMRC bloke has said to speak to someone qualified asap to demonstrate that I have made an effort to resolve the situation.

Can I ask what you did?

Filling in my 21/22 SA a couple of months ago I think (but I'm not 100% sure - I just can;t figure it out) I made a mistake to do with putting a figure in my 20/21 submission for overdue tax to pay in the following year.

Basically put in my Army pension and nothing else, neatly forgetting the salary I was drawing at the time with my new employer. What a plum. I think at the time I was having some time out after leaving the mob and just didn't give it a moment's thought when I got a job. The perils of civilian life.

HMRC are chasing for a fair old chunk of cash and have strongly advised me to get some professional help to demonstrate that I've tried to to resolve it and therefore avoid a penalty.
