Dollar Account & Credit Card?

I'm going to get a small cash inheritance from the USA. May be as much as 5k.
I thought I might take a holiday there and use most of it. I would want to avoid converting backwards and forwards. Can I easily get a dollar account and dollar credit card to use there? If so how does it work?
Or are there other alternatives that I haven't thought about.

Open a wise account and have the money paid into that.

Do car rental companies and hotels in the USA accept a Wise card?
If not I'd be forever finding an ATM to get cash.

Check with your current bank if they offer anything, HSBC recently launched an account (Global Money) which should do exactly what you're looking for. Others might have similar.

You'd probably want to do that on a credit card that gives you rental coverage anyway.
