Mrs Cupcake wanted to do something with her Vanguard ISA and was confronted with a text verification screen. I knew this was coming and I also knew that it would be a clusterfukk and I was right. Clicked the 'send text' button and waited for the code to come through . . . and waited . . . and waited. 20 minutes later and still nothing.

Things that Vanguard suggest if you have problems receiving the code include 'check your phones settings'. 'move around for better reception', 'remove your phone case' (eh?) and charging your phone.

Of course, the 'help line' is only open 9 to 5 Monday to Friday.

I expected much better from Vanguard but it is symptomatic of a recent thread that nothing works anymore.

Rant over. Has anyone else had any problems or is Mrs Cupcakes account one of a few guinea pigs to troubleshoot this new 'feature'?

Checked my account yesterday and the text verification came practically instantly.

No problems here I’m afraid..

Best to wait until Monday and try again since no transaction will be processed in the weekend anyway

Sky mobile (who I am with) and I think giff gaff both having issues today with texts not working today so may be network related.

I needed text verification today for gov gateway and it never arrived due to sky mobile rather than it being the site... if you aren't with either of them then this is of no use though.

My whole family had many problems with giffgaff network earlier (o2) so as said, might be mobile provider causing the problems
