I am unsure if anyone can help me with what seems a fairly simplistic Question for this forum.
I Would like to borrow around a £100k for approximately 12 months. At the age of 72, notwithstanding the fact that I own my £600k house I am struggling to find anybody prepared to advance me a loan. A large number are prepared to buy a slice of the house to release equity but they seem most Unwilling for me to actually pay the money back !
I appreciate quite high charges may be involved but can anybody point me in the direction of a good way forward or should I abandon the idea now ?

From the title I had an image of a classic car parked in a hedge!

While I can't help you myself there are a lot of very helpful people on here who probably can advise.

It might be helpful to give as much detail as you can. I guess you might need as a minimum some kind of health check-up or be prepared to assign part of your estate to clear the debt should anything unexpected happen.

Thanks Sarnie. Your reputation on this forum speaks volumes. Just off to dinner now (Wedding anniversary) I'll touch base tomorrow.
