Individual wants to pay another via Apple Pay - safe?

I’m currently selling something privately with a value of circa £1k.

I’ve received a message from someone wanting to meet to collect in person & pay via Apple Pay. I didn’t even know this was a thing, but doing some research, apparently it is!

Is it secure, or can the transfer be spoofed, money recalled etc?

The messages are well constructed and written, and don’t have the usual scam hallmarks, but the buyer is apparently from the US travelling on business, which together with the Apple Pay thing, rang some alarm bells.

What say you, PH?

Nice easy way to decline then! My Googling didn’t immediately show it was a US only thing.

If he's in the UK he could change his USD into GBP and pay cash when he arrives. You're the seller, you make the rules so you're happy.
