Conservatives just want the public to focus on the David Beckham documentary while they brush the massive fraud and corruption they were involved in under the carpet.

It was naive to allow limited companies to apply for loans that had close to zero criteria to be met and where the lender carried no risk as default fell back onto the tax payer. Even the procurement farces are so well protected by law they're untouchable. And the recipients of the most overt frauds have left the U.K.

It's dishonest to claim you can get that money back. The Shadow Chancellor categorically knows that she is lying.

It's similar to the house building promise. They know that mechanically it's simply not possible to build that number of houses. It is afterall the reason why core targets have been missed to date.

Lovely ideas but the folks using them to try and get the proletariat to tick their box are intelligent and educated and know they are lying.

We are never going to get that money back. However, something worth considering is that this happened in every developed nation and all that money is washing around the global system with London at the centre taking endless fee clips as it all washes repeatedly around the system. Thanks to London, the U.K. is making revenue on huge proportions of that capital and will do for years to come. Profits that allow the U.K. to continue to luxuriate in a standard of living far higher than it could naturally sustain.

So do we want to be clipping 1% of a $trillion every year for years to come or spend £millions in the courts on a PR stunt to appease some people who have no desire to begin to comprehend the concept of limited liability?

Sometimes I think the Guardian journalists should try running the country. After all, they seem to know everything. And then they'd learn a hard lesson of reality.

It's hard to take anything Devi Sridhar says seriously when you look back through a lot of her output, especially during covid

She was a fully paid up SNP shill at one stage. An impartial source she most definitely is not
