Exams for Mortgage Advisors to also sell insurance?
Discussion
I've a relative who was sold travel insurance by a Mortgage Advisor who also sells insurance.
The relative told me the Mortgage Advisor who arranged the travel insurance had to take an exam to be able to do that.
I am aware Mortgage Advisors have to pass an FSA exam to sell mortgages, do they have to pass an additional exam to be able to sell insurance as well?
Searching online it seems there are Introducers (IR?) and Authorised Insurance Resellers (IAR?). Is a difference between them having to pass an exam?

Thanks for the replies. The relative unprompted said the person who arranged their travel insurance had to take an exam to do that which didn't sound right to me. The Mortgage Advisor offers other products such as insurance and one of their testimonials, which I realise could be fake, mentions that they additionally helped arrange insurance which worked out better for that customer.
