As title, really.
I've bought my mancave, it's a 16 x 30 ft garage that currently contains two cars, two trailers, a large lathe and pillar drill, and a 3-phase genny to run them.
I need building and contents insurance, ~£70k max, but garage policies seem to be exclusively for adjacent buildings or outbuildings on the same property, whereas mine is about 10 miles away.

Any ideas?

My word, you are in optimistic mood today.

My suspicion is you'll be better off spending money on "security" than spending it on "insurance". That's just for the garage and its contents. You'll need to talk to a genuine insurance broker to get the full answer, not just one of the usual house insurance people. Best if you already have some other business through the same people or can put more through them.

Car insurance itself will also need careful review.

Depending on how remote , I agree what Panamax has said.
I know there are some specialists our there that may cover the building itself but won’t do contents so I hope you won’t need 2 separate policies as that may be a very tall ask.
Definitely would echo calling a local to you Broker and put the scenario to them.
Good luck.

Just had a chat with Callum, he's going to see what can be done.

Cheers!

I had a similar issue when I tried to insure my car when it was in my garage (1 mile from my home) - from memory I used Lancaster (it was a classic car) and I seem to remember a clause that I had to check the car weekly etc.
